Research
Research impact
This page distinguishes outputs, engagement, and demonstrated use. It describes activity honestly rather than claiming impact without evidence.
Decision-support tools in use
Three interactive tools translate research into analysis that decision-makers can use directly: eMANDEVAL Future for vaccine-mandate policy, the SOIL CRC Benefit-Cost Analysis Tool for agricultural trials, and the STEPS FETP Scale-up Decision Aid for field-epidemiology training.
Partner and policy engagement
The FETP India business case was commissioned by the World Bank Group. The MandEval programme, funded through the MRFF, evaluates the effectiveness and consequences of Australia's COVID-19 vaccine mandates and produces evidence relevant to vaccine policy.
Open resources for the field
The open repository of COVID-19 vaccine-mandate studies makes a scattered literature findable and reusable. Public teaching resources in behavioural economics support students and educators beyond Newcastle.
Contribution to research practice and training
Work on discrete choice experiment design and on feedback in preference assessment aims to improve how the field measures preferences. As Guest Editor for Health Policy and Technology and a reviewer for leading journals, and through doctoral and MSc supervision, this extends to the research community and the next generation of researchers.
